Chinese Astrology Compatibility… Is it accurate at all?

I was born on May 14, 1991 (Year: Metal Sheep, Month: Water Snake, Day: Wood Monkey), and my boyfriend was born on October 24, 1986 (Year: Fire Tiger, Month: Earth Dog, Day: Water Rabbit). I never actually got a full detailed reading that included all of this information, but every time I look up information about the compatibility between the sheep and the tiger, it says that the relationship won’t last long or it will be extremely difficult and we aren’t suited for one another. The thing is, he and I have been together for a year now and are set on marrying each other, and we also are truly in love with one another, and I even stay at his place 4 out of 7 days a week, so we’re around each other quite often. Every time we’re together, we always have so much fun and are so happy. We do have our nasty little bumps every now and then, but we’ve gotten through them, and it’s normal in every relationship to encounter those sorts of things. We are both really different from each other personality-wise, but we’re also very similar in a lot of ways, too. We both teach each other things, and broaden each other’s view and perspective. It makes me a bit sad always reading such negative things about our sign compatibility, though. I know I probably shouldn’t put so much thought into it, but sometimes, it can be a downer, and I just want to know… Can Chinese astrology be accurate at all when it comes to this?

Actually, Goat (i.e., Sheep) is incompatible with Ox while Tiger is incompatible with Monkey. So, you two are not exactly incompatible as per Chinese astrology.

Incidentally, I know of a married couple who are incompatible based on their Chinese sign, but seems to be doing fine. In Chinese astrology, it’s not impossible for two "incompatible" signs to have a relationship. There are other factors to be considered. Anyway, I think it’s probably because they have something in common which can be seen using the zodiac or Western astrology.

Frankly, since you are Taurus and your BF is Scorpio, you are actually compatible going by the elements (i.e., Taurus is an earth sign while Scorpio is a water sign).

Although this is usually a free service in most websites, its results are meaningless. This approach has 12 stereotypes and predictions for all humans. Thus, this is a disservice to astrology admirers and users. 

2.    Know that each individual has his or her own unique astrological predictions.

Every person is unique and his or her destiny can only be determined from the horoscope based on his own birth date, time, and place of birth. Have a qualified astrologer read through your birth time, date and place. Remember, all love and astrological predictions should only be based on your own unique horoscope.

3.    The accuracy of timing of event (like your birth time, date and place) determines the accuracy of the different love and astrological predictions.

Since almost all horoscope, love, and other astrological readings are based on your basic birth information (time, date and place) astrological predictions will only be reliable and accurate if all the information is recorded correctly. If you have any doubts, you can get your horoscope rectified by providing the astrologer your important life events and the corresponding dates. This way, the astrologer will be able to give you a more accurate evaluation report of the future. The more data from the past that you provide, the better and more reliable the predictions will be.
